Gary recently celebrated 30 years in the travel industry where he has followed a path that has spanned from the charter airline industry, airport operations and handling into broader roles within the UK outbound tour operating markets for some of Europe’s biggest tour operators. His time within the travel industry has given Gary diverse experiences within finance, sales, operations, customer services, procurement and product contracting.
Before joining the team at VVV Global, Gary’s most recent role was at Virgin Holidays as Head of Purchasing where he worked for 14 years. During his time at Virgin he successfully allowed them to grow and maintain their market leading position for vacation travel to the USA and Canada. Gary also worked on developing their upmarket premium offering of high end unique boutique style hotels as well as introducing and re-launching Travel City Direct back into the UK market. Working with tourist boards, local and international hotel groups, ground handing agents, tourist attractions and suppliers of ancillary products, Gary has a proven record of placing the right product, positioned effectively in the right marketplace to allow both existing and new products to be successfully sold to the end consumer, gaining profitable returns for both supplier and tour operator alike.
Most recently Gary has been working to redefine Virgin’s hotel and ground product supply and introduced new xml technology supply feeds to supplement both Virgin Atlantic website and Virgin Holidays popular range of core hotel products.
Gary is a Board Director of the Visit USA Association and also currently holds the role of Deputy Chair.
